About me

Hau Lam Chin (Violet)

Psychotherapist in training under supervision

Having lived and gained experience across Austria, Hong Kong, and Foshan, and currently based in Austria, I have been exposed to different cultural and working contexts. This has shaped my understanding of how culture, language, and environment influence inner experience, while also highlighting shared human experiences such as emotional difficulty, recurring patterns of feeling or responding, and a sense of disconnection.

In a time that often prioritises efficiency and functioning, it is not always easy to pause and stay in contact with one’s inner world. Some experiences are difficult to put into words; some feelings may remain vague, unformulated, even to oneself.

My work is grounded in a psychoanalytic approach. While symptoms may appear similar, they are embedded in an individual inner world that has developed and become layered over time. I am interested in what lies beneath, which continues to influence experience and may at times limit how one is able to live and relate.

I invite you to take a moment to slow down, and to begin to understand what may be happening within you, or to give space to what may not yet be clear or fully understood.
